"It's Not Cricket ......." This was the comment given to me by someone I work with after he too caught the 'orrible flu lurgy that is doing the rounds at the moment. We were both in Rome trying to pay our mortgages when I was struck down with this evil flu type thing. I believe Charlie had a slight sniffle last week but being female she couldn't possibly have felt as bad a I did. Anyway by the time we left Rome yesterday about 5 of us were in various stages of dying!! It was such a happy sight to behold! (not) I really do hope these things can't be passed on via emails and message boards or you lot are in big trouble! The timing of it wasn't all bad though as I had just finished the sessions with Calum Maccoll who is playing guitars and all manner of home made musical stuff on the album. Having worked our backsides off we are left with about one more day to go and then it's ready to be mixed!! Also, while I have been sitting about feeling sorry for myself I have come up with the album front cover design which I think is rather groovy so you can all sleep soundly, rest assured that all is well in Sefton world once again. Right, I am going back to bed. Sefton x

| Ok, I'm only going to say this because I believe Sefton will know it comes in good nature. While I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the pic of Sefton at the top of the website, he looks like he hasn't slept or had a decent meal in weeks. Talk about tortured artists looks. It's 'nough to make me jump across the pond with a few frying pans and cook the boy a good meal. I'll bring a razor for you too buddy. _________________ Advice for the day- If you have a headache, do what it says on the aspirin bottle... Take two and keep away from children!

Hi Karen "Mean & Moody" seems to be the "in" thing regarding artist/ actor promo shots and album pics? Is there a reason for this? What are they trying to portray..its lost on me? Was the picture taken when SEFTON was suffering with "Man Flu" described above? Your fry up and a bowl of porridge sounds just the ticket. Would fans of preffered this pic on the front cover? Razor Boy? LOL Made thing of this cool song I love the Dan ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zpi77dn9mf4

I think the new photo is fine. I understand what your saying about Sefton looking a tad unkempt in the photo but I think the photo fits with the mood of the album. does exactly what it says on the tin. Andy that is my fav photo! What i would say is after meeting Sefton he looks older in this new photo. I was struck by how young he was. I cant remember how old he said he was, I was interested to hear but the answer was said under a cough so didnt pick it up. Karen you should think about getting yourself over here for the festival and we'll go see MrS do his funky thang live onstage MrS, do you get your photos done for you by a professional or do you do them yourself?

Hey Guys and Gals! Wow! Been busy on here! Thats great to see! Right! Lets get this pic business sorted out shall we! Karen ... you are absolutely right .... no offence taken. In fact I was rather heartened to read this thread. If the photo has provoked a reaction then it really has done it's job as far as I am concerned. We ummed and arrrred about the album cover for quite some time I can tell you and asked quite a lot of peoples opinions on all sorts of designs. The first idea was to do something similar to the EP with hand drawn artwork but lots of people said that I should put my face on the front which I resisted for some time! When I saw this picture I thought that if I was going to have my face on the front then THIS was the one I wanted. It is not the shot my mother would choose but as Paula rightly says it represents the music very well. The reason I and others were drawn to it was because you have masses of streaming light on one side of me and relative darkness on the other. I am sitting between the two lost in my thoughts. If that ain't a good representation of the album then I don't know what is. Yes I don't look my "best" but then again I seldom write about feeling my best either so it has a good correlation with the art inside. Also the whole thing is framed on the album like you are peering in to someones soul or and again that is what the songs are doing. whilst I do like the other pic that is everyones fave I felt it was a little too "nice" for the front of the album. Some of the pics I have put on the website are professional shots and others are taken my amateurs or me (very amateur!) The album cover shot was taken by me using the camera on my laptop beleive it or not and then touched up in photoshop to make the smears and tint the colouring. The light that I have captured on the shot is completely natural as is the beard! We really had to work hard to make me look that rough! LOL (not!) As for me looking younger in "real life" ....well ...... Paula I have a £5 postal order on it's way to you as we speak!

You might need to book a string section as well for Mr.S . The wonderful Yvonne Lyon is playing the Academy this Saturday. It brought the venue to my attention LINK

I wouldnt know how to book a string section but if I did i'd be onto it! I think normal protocol for gigs in the Glasgow area is to send a demo and if the venue like you they book you. I dont think i'm in a position to be handing out Sefton Demos. thats his job
